Gutter & Fascia Replacement Dandenong

Some guttering is past the point a clean or a patch will help. When the metal has rusted through, the run sags away from the fascia, or water still sheets over the front edge after every clean, the guttering itself has failed and the fix is to replace it. Eminent Roofing & Restoration handles gutter replacement across Melbourne’s south-east and east, fitting new gutters, downpipes and fascia and taking the old run away. Below we set out when replacement is the honest call, the materials and profiles you can choose, and what actually shapes the price, so nothing on the quote catches you out.

When Guttering Is Past a Clean or a Repair

  • Rust through the base or the back of the gutter, or brown streaks bleeding down the fascia
  • Runs that sag or pull away from the fascia, so water pools instead of running to the downpipe
  • Split seams and joints that keep leaking after they have been resealed
  • Overflow that keeps happening straight after a clean, which usually means the gutters are undersized or misfallen, not just blocked

When two or three of these show up along a run, sealing another joint only buys a few months. New guttering fixed to sound fascia is the repair that lasts.

Replace the Whole Run, Repair a Section, or Just Clean?

Not every job is a full replacement, and we will tell you when it isn’t. If the runs are sound and only blocked, you need a gutter clean, not new metal. If one length has rusted out but the rest of the roofline is in good shape, a section gutter repair can be the cheaper, honest call. Replacement earns its cost when the gutters are failing along most of the roof, when they are undersized for the roof area, or when the fascia behind them has gone and needs doing at the same time. We quote whichever of the three genuinely suits the roof in front of us. There is no commission for talking you into the biggest job.

Colorbond, Zincalume and Galvanised: Materials, Profiles and Colours

Most new gutters we fit are Colorbond steel, chosen for its coated finish and the colour range that lets you match or contrast the roof and fascia. Zincalume gives the same steel base with a bare, unpainted finish, and plain galvanised steel is the budget option where colour matching is not a priority. On profile, the two common shapes are Quad, with its rounded front, and square-front styles such as Squareline, which suit a straighter, more modern roofline. The profile and material you pick change both the look and the price, so we walk you through the options at the quote rather than deciding for you.

Colorbond steel carries its own manufacturer’s product warranty from BlueScope on the coated steel, which is separate from our warranty on the workmanship. We keep the two clear so you know exactly what covers what.

What a Full Gutter Replacement Includes

A replacement is a capital job, not a maintenance visit, so the quote spells out the whole scope:

    • Removing the old gutters and downpipes and carting them away
    • Supplying and fitting new gutters in your chosen profile, material and colour
    • New brackets and fixings along the run
    • New downpipes where the existing ones are rusted, undersized or poorly placed, connected back to the stormwater
    • Fascia and eaves work where the timber or metal fascia behind the gutter is damaged
    • Leaving the property clean, with the old material gone

Where the trees around a place make it worthwhile, gutter guard can be fitted to the new run at the same time. We flag it as an option, never a default add-on.

What Drives the Price of a Gutter Replacement

Every enquiry starts as a “how much” question, and the honest answer is that no two roofs cost the same. We do not post a flat rate because the figure moves with:

    • Total linear metres of guttering around the roof
    • Single or double storey, and how easily the roof can be reached, since a two-storey job may need scaffolding
    • Roof size and pitch
    • Whether the fascia and downpipes also need replacing, or just the gutters
    • The profile and material you choose

Rather than quote a Melbourne “average” that means nothing for your roof, we measure the run, look at the fascia and access, and put every line in writing. The quote is free, itemised and has no hidden costs, so you can see what each part of the job adds.

Your New Gutters and the 10-Year Workmanship Warranty

The install is backed by a 10-year workmanship warranty. That covers how the gutters, downpipes and fascia are fitted: the falls, the joints, the fixings and the seal. Colorbond gutters themselves are built to last for many years on a Melbourne roof, and the manufacturer’s product warranty on the coated steel sits alongside our workmanship cover, not folded into it. You get a written guarantee on materials and workmanship when the job is done.

How a Gutter Replacement Runs, Start to Finish

The way we work is built around dealing with you directly. There are no subcontractors between you and the crew:

    1. Phone 0451 200 159 or send an enquiry through the website, describing how the gutters have been behaving.
    2. We come out, inspect the run and the fascia, and give you a free, detailed, itemised quote with no surprises.
    3. Once you are happy, we book the job at a time that suits you.
    4. The old gutters come down, the new run goes up, and the property is left clean and tidy.
    5. You get a written guarantee on materials and workmanship, backed by the 10-year workmanship warranty.

    Gutter Replacement Questions

How much does it cost to replace guttering in Melbourne?

It depends on the metres of guttering, the storeys and access, and whether the fascia and downpipes also need doing. We measure the roof and give you a free itemised quote rather than a guessed figure, so you can see what each part costs.

How much does Colorbond guttering cost per metre?

There is no single per-metre rate, because the profile you choose, the number of downpipes, and how the roof is accessed all change the figure. We price the whole job, itemised, so the metre rate is baked into a number you can actually rely on.

Can you replace just a section of gutter?

Yes. If one run has rusted out but the rest is sound, a section replacement or repair is often the sensible, cheaper call. We only recommend a full replacement when most of the guttering has failed.

What is the best time of year to replace gutters?

Gutters can be replaced any time. Most owners book before the summer storms and the autumn wet, which is why enquiries climb in early spring. Getting new guttering on before heavy rain saves the overflow damage a failing run causes.

How long do new gutters last?

Colorbond gutters fitted properly last for many years on a Melbourne roof. The install itself is backed by a 10-year workmanship warranty, and the coated steel carries its own manufacturer’s product warranty.
