Not every worn gutter needs the whole run replaced. When the metal is still sound and the trouble is a single leaking join, a length pulling away from the fascia, or brackets that have let go, a repair is the honest, cheaper fix. We reseal joins, re-secure or replace brackets, reset the fall, and patch localised rust.
If your gutters were cleared recently and still sheet water over the edge in the first downpour, the metal is worn thin or out of fall, and a patch only buys a little time. We would still rather quote the smaller job when it genuinely holds.

A full replacement earns its place once rust, sagging and split seams have spread along the line. The old run comes off and is taken away, and new gutters go on with the fall set to carry water to the downpipes. Where the fascia behind the gutter has gone soft, we renew it at the same time, because bolting a new gutter onto a rotted board just moves the problem along.
